Dr. Harriet Shucksmith

Harriet is a GP and mum of two young children. She became concerned about the impact of smartphones and social media, on children and adolescent’s mental health, when working in A+E in 2019.

She has an interest in mental health and regularly sees patients whose mental and physical health has been affected by their time online. By empowering parents and children to make informed decisions around smartphones and screens, she feels hopeful that things can change. By moving away from a screen-based childhood, we can improve physical and mental health outcomes for our children and young people.
