Dr. Sanjiv Nichani OBE

Dr Sanjiv Nichani is a highly respected Consultant Paediatrician at the East Midlands Congenital Heart Centre and Leicester Children’s Hospital. With a career dedicated to improving paediatric healthcare, he also serves as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leicester College of Life Sciences, where he mentors and inspires future medical professionals.

Driven by a passion for global healthcare equity, Dr. Nichani founded the Healing Little Hearts Global Foundation, a UK-registered charity that provides free heart surgeries to children in developing countries. His exceptional contributions earned him recognition as a Points of Light UK award recipient, personally awarded by Prime Minister Theresa May in 2019.

He is a national champion in raising awareness of the mental and physical health problems associated with excessive screen use in children and adolescents. He has coined the term 'screendemic' to describe the problems with young people and screens.
