Dr. Sarah Wilks
Sarah is a GP in Liverpool and a Health Inequalities Lead for a network of eight GP practices in Central and South Liverpool.
In her work as a GP, she has witnessed first-hand the impact of declining mental health across all age groups. More recently, she has become increasingly aware of this trend among children and young people, where its heavy toll on their education, attainment, aspirations, and social connections is deeply concerning. Sarah has found the emerging evidence linking childhood mental health problems to screen use so compelling that it has influenced not only her professional work but also her role as a parent.
A mum to three girls, Sarah is actively involved in the Smartphone Free Childhood movement at their school. She is also a strong advocate for delaying smartphone use and social media.
